Common Sense Selling™Simplify. Focus. Succeed.

Selling is a profession. It deserves a standard.

Common Sense Selling™ exists to improve sales performance by changing sales behaviors through simple, practical and repeatable systems that create measurable business results.

Glenn, founder of Common Sense Selling

Why Common Sense Selling exists

I've spent my career as a salesperson, sales leader, consultant, coach and trainer. I've worked with emerging companies and global enterprises, including IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, FedEx, Bell, Telus, Verizon, Ceridian and CDI/Trox, and I've trained well over 1,000 sales professionals in methodologies like Miller Heiman and Power-Based Selling.

Along the way I kept seeing the same thing. Organizations rarely lacked talented people. They lacked a disciplined way to improve revenue performance. Training was prescribed before anyone diagnosed the problem. Managers inspected instead of coached. CRM became a reporting chore instead of a decision tool. Forecasts ran on hope.

Working with CDI/Trox over many years taught me the lesson that shaped everything since: the biggest gains came when leadership, coaching, process, accountability and customer focus improved together. Training alone was never the answer.

So I built Common Sense Selling to start where a good doctor starts, with diagnosis. We gather evidence across your whole organization, find the root causes, and recommend only what the evidence supports.

What we believe

Sales is a profession.
Simple beats complicated.
Curiosity beats persuasion.
Evidence beats opinion.
Behavior beats knowledge.
Trust is earned.
Progress is measured by customer commitment, not salesperson activity.
Managers develop people. They don't inspect them.

The Monday Morning Test™

Everything we build has to answer one question: what will someone do differently tomorrow morning? If we can't answer it, it doesn't belong in Common Sense Selling. That goes for every assessment question, every recommendation and every coaching conversation.

Our promise to you

  • We'll never teach theory without practical application.
  • We'll never complicate what can be simplified.
  • We'll never recommend a solution before we understand your goals.
  • We'll always measure results.
  • We'll respect your time as much as our own.

See your organization the way the evidence sees it.
